Update

YES, there are still Georgia “Share The Road” Thank You license plates with low numbers of 3 through 99 available.  AND, the GEORGIA BIKES! Board Of Directors decided in 2007 to move the 3-99 Share The Road plate numbers opportunity to the next phase  –  bids are now accepted on a first come, first serve basis.  The $30-minimum and $5-additional-increments and other aspects noted below still apply.
Numbers 3 Through 99 For The SHARE THE ROAD License Plates

Introducing an opportunity for you to get a 3–99 number on your SHARE THE ROAD license plate.

An opportunity has arisen for existing and future holders of the Georgia SHARE THE ROAD specialty license plates to secure a number from 3 through 99 for their plate.  If you have favorite number in that range or if you just want to display a one or two digit number on your plate, and you would like to support GEORGIA BIKES! at the same time, please read on.

This is only chance for you to have some determination in what plate number is sported on your Georgia SHARE THE ROAD specialty license plate.  Again, this opportunity is for those folks whom already have their SHARE THE ROAD plate in hand as well as those whom have yet to get their plate; but it‘s only for numbers 3 through 99.

How Will It Work?

GEORGIA BIKES! is seeking mailed-check, thirty-dollar ($30) minimum, five-dollar ($5additional-increment bids for each 3 through 99 number.  The highest current bid amount and the bidder’s initials for each number will be posted in a spreadsheet on this website.  If there are two or more identical high bids for the same 3–99 number, each of those bidders’ initials will be shown.  Additional five-dollar ($5minimum-increment bid checks can be mailed as long as they arrive by the end of the current two-month bid period.  If the highest bids for a particular 3–99 number remain tied on the last day of the period, the winner will be determined by a random drawing.  Bids for still-available numbers will be taken on a bi-monthly basis until further notice.

GEORGIA BIKES! will provide the State with a list of persons, their “winning” 3–99 number, after each bid period concludes.  The State will get the appropriate plate to the appropriate main county tag office.  If that person already has a Georgia SHARE THE ROAD plate and wants their new plate outside of their normal tag renewal period, there is a State recharge fee of eight dollars ($8).  All of the State’s other specialty license plate fees and processes remain the same as explained elsewhere including if that person does not yet have a SHARE THE ROAD plate, and they want it outside of their normal tag renewal period, there is a twenty-five-dollar ($25) State fee.  The State is not involved in the bidding process.  All plates will still have the standard “RD” prefix.

What Do You Need To Do?

If you want the opportunity to try to get a specific number from 3 to 99 on your SHARE THE ROAD specialty license plate, as explained above, staple your $30-minimum, $5-additional-increments bid check made out to GEORGIA BIKES! to a sheet of paper that has written on it:

1.    Your requested number (one number from 3 to 99 only):

2.    Your telephone number with area code:

3.    Your e-mail address:

4.    The registered vehicle owner's name:

5.    That owner’s mailing address:

6.    That county of residence:

7.    That owner's drivers license number:

8.    The vehicle’s current plate number (e.g. 123 XYZ or RD 2468):

9.    Your directions for your check, should your bid not be the highest, like;

·    Please save/use that check for another 3–99 number in this or the next bid period.

·    Please shred/destroy that check.

·    Please use that check for a GEORGIA BIKES! membership/donation.

And mail to:  3–99 c/o GEORGIA BIKES!   /   P.O.B. 49755   /   ATL, GA  30359

Keep checking the Numbers 3 Through 99 Opportunity Spreadsheet to see your bid and/or the highest other bids for particular numbers.

FYI, it is not known who received plate numbers 1 and 2... but we can tell you that those plate numbers did not go to anyone at GEORGIA BIKES!
